UU Minister and musician, Kiya Heartwood visits our church for a trip through our UU Hymnal. Learn the secret codes in the hymnal and an exploration of why our music is the way it is and some ideas how we can go forward. She shares overview of the major players in our liberal theology’s approach to music from the early Christians to the present and explanations of the codes and symbols used within our hymnal. Pastor Kiya is an internationally touring singer songwriter and composer. She earned a B.A. in Honors Creative Writing from University of Kentucky and a B.A. in Music Composition from Converse.
