Bucking the Patriarchy

Rev. Denise Cawley

The order of service can be found here.

Rev. Dr. Florence Buck advocated for education from her early days as a school teacher, high school principal, minister, and director of religious education for the American Unitarian Association (AUA). The lessons she imparted are topics we look at even today as key in utilizing compassion for those neglected by society, illustrated by her interest in factory working youth, those in prison and children lacking an education. Rev. Buck progressed in her field despite discrimination. Her accomplishments would be impressive for any person and considering she did this in a time before women could vote in America.
