Common Threads: Labor, Yesterday and Today

Every Labor Day we recognize the countless men and women whose hands and minds have built our world, and we acknowledge how much work is still needed to make this world fair and equitable. The history of the garment trade shows how the tastes and consumption habits of the few can affect the many. For generations, the workers who make our clothing have labored in unsafe conditions, sometimes for little or no pay.
