Leveraging the Power of Song, Right Here, Right Now

Join songwriter, songleader and UU community minister, the Rev. Wendy Luella Perkins for a morning of singing, silence and reflection as we join in Soulful Singing (singing meditation for all). Along the way, Wendy Luella will share some of the songs, stories and insights that have emerged over the past two years of daily online singing. This service promises to be participatory, grounding and uplifting, whether or not you consider yourself a singer!

ABOUT THE REV. WENDY LUELLA PERKINS
The Rev. Wendy Luella Perkins founded Soulful Singing (singing meditation for all) in 2002.  She is a Unitarian Universalist affiliated community minister with the Kingston Unitarian Fellowship.  In her ministry, she has experienced again and again the power of song to support folks to connect, heal, grow, and step more fully into their own individual and collective power.  Born on the east coast of Canada (Nova Scotia), Wendy Luella has lived in Kingston Ontario for over 25 years (yes, that’s the same Kingston where our interim minister, Ben Robins, is from, and yes, they are friends and colleagues).

Her song “We Give Thanks”, #1010 in Singing the Journey and her seasonal song “Every Night a Holy Night” are sung and shared in UU congregations around the continent.  She has written hundreds of songs. You can sing along with Wendy Luella on Tik Tok https://www.tiktok.com/@wendyluellaperkins.

As a response to the loneliness, isolation and fear many experienced at the beginning of the pandemic, the Rev. Wendy Luella piloted Soulful Singing in March 2020 to become a daily online practice (so she is coming up on her two year anniversary!).  Hundreds of people from all around the world have joined in these gatherings since then. YOU can join in too. Find out more by connecting with Wendy Luella:  info@wendyluellaperkins.com.
