Peace and War

Teresa Goodell

On Memorial Day, we honor those who have died in war.  This is right, even when we don’t agree with the war itself.  But all too often, we overlook the peace that was given up by going to war.  We embrace the wounded coming home, but then neglect their housing, employment, and health needs. We forget the multi-generational effects of war.  How can we think more broadly about peace and war to reduce the painful legacy of wars, and possibly prevent them?  What should we DO about war, as UUs?
