Our Minister

Rev. Julián Jamaica Soto

I am so grateful to write this hello to your lovely congregation. I have wanted to be a minister since I was a young child, so in a way, it’s a dream come true to share this time with your community.

We have chances to get to know each other and prepare for the year ahead. I have a special invitation for members or friends of the congregation who would like to take me up on it. It’s simply: let’s talk.

I’m available by appointment, in person or by video chat to get to know you a little bit and understand what kind of ministry would be supportive to you. I’ll be in the office in person on Tuesday, with availability on Wednesday and Thursday by appointment as well.

It helps me to have a little bit of flexibility to meet with different people in different ways on these three days so I ask only that we confirm plans with each other to make the most of your time.

Here’s a link by which you can make an appointment. After you make the appointment, I’ll confirm with you about being in person or by video chat.

Thank you in advance to everyone who is using this link and helping make the most of our time. I really appreciate it.

Please note: If it doesn’t work out for you to use the scheduling link, I’m happy to do it analog with you. Just email me at reverend@uuccwc.org with a good time to call you and I will call and schedule with you one on one.

What do we talk about? Here are some suggestions. Of course, they’re not required. You can tell me whatever you really want me to know. These are just some things that help me to begin to learn about you and your congregation.

  • What would you like me to know about you?
  • What would you like me to know about the congregation?
  • What’s working for you in the congregation?
  • What are you learning?
  • What do you wish or hope for?

Please feel free to share with me what’s important to you during this time. Is my commitment to listen and learn about your congregation from your perspective. I invite you to dream big about the conversation and our possibilities. Georgia O’Keeffe reminds us,
